IT Channel,
PersonalI finally surrendered to all the hype of the iPods and got the iPod Touch second generation. Unfortunately Palm lost the battle is in the process of extinction. Quite bad, we had good times. But let’s welcome the awesomeness of Apple! That little device is finally more than a funny toy that plays music and can do virtually all things my Palm used to do: from watching videos to manage my agenda.
The killer app for me was the electronic book and PDF reader. I like reading books or papers on the go, but I hate carrying all that stuff. I like buying cheap books in the eReader store or reading interesting stuff in PDFs. Now I can carry all the boks and documents I want in a very little space.
One drawback is that the Touch doesn’t work in Linux yet, it hasn’t been jailbroken yet, but it’s good enough so far. I can do more of my stuff wirelessly so no much need to reboot on Windows.
And the other reason to buy the iPod was the price, since I went to the Apple Store on the Black Friday and even better, I’ll get the taxes back at the airport! How cool is that?

PersonalA friend in the US sent me this hilarious link about Obama losing, it just made my day. Come on, what’s the chance of Palin and her grandpa of winning? Americans are not idiots, well most of them.

PersonalOne of the good things about being in Australiais to be at the wedding of my very good friend Heidi and Tony. They’re going to get married tomorrow! Everything seems perfect so far, no only because I was invited but because the wedding was carefully planned. I haven’t been in any wedding here in Australia, I’ll take pictures and post back here if I see something unusual (I’m expecting a boomerang tossing or something).
So that’s it: Heidi and Tony, congratulations in your new life together!!

Chronicles of AustraliaOne of the most unusual things you can do in Australia is skiing on snow! Yeah, it sounds weird, but there are Snowy Mountains around 400 km south of Sydney. “Snowy” really means heaps of snow, like 1.5 metres. So, I guess is going to be fun, I’ve never skied before and probably I never expected to do it in a place like Australia but there you go, this country is rare. So I should be in Jindabyne tonight. I’m going to catch a bus after work.
I’ll be back on Monday
